During my trip to Hanoi, one of the places I stayed was the charming Hanoi Finnegans Hotel. Located in the heart of the city’s historic Old Quarter, this hotel proved to be an excellent choice for exploring the vibrant streets and visiting top attractions such as Hoan Kiem Lake, the Water Puppet Theatre, Dong Xuan Market, and the Opera House.
In today’s blog post, I’ll give you a glimpse into my stay to help you decide if this hotel is the right fit for you.
Perfect Location In Hanoi’s Old Quarter
If you’ve never been to Hanoi, the Old Quarter is one of the most well-known areas in the city and is often regarded as the best place to stay. The hotel is situated right in the heart of the Old Quarter, offering a prime location where you can easily access everything you need—restaurants, shops, rental services, and tours.
It also serves as a convenient base for exploring Hanoi’s cultural and historical landmarks, such as Hoan Kiem Lake, the Water Puppet Theatre, Dong Xuan Market, and the Opera House. During my stay, I found it incredibly easy to navigate the bustling streets and fully immerse myself in the vibrant atmosphere of this charming neighborhood.
The Hotel Rooms Are Unique
One of the standout features of this hotel is its uniquely decorated rooms. Each room has its own distinct style, tastefully adorned with traditional influences drawn from Hanoi’s rich life and art scene. The attention to detail in the décor added an authentic touch to my stay, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
I stayed at the hotel during my last visit to Hanoi and chose the Finnegans Honeymoon Suite with Balcony. Although it’s the highest-priced room in the hotel, it remained surprisingly affordable and provided exceptional value for money—allowing me to enjoy a high-quality stay without breaking the bank.
The Staff Were Friendly and Accommodating
The hotel staff at Hanoi Finnegans was super friendly to me, attentive, and always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests. Their warm and welcoming attitude added a personal touch to my stay, creating a positive and memorable experience.
The Hotel Can Make Tour Arrangements
Hotels in Vietnam typically offer tour arrangement services, and this hotel is no exception. They are more than willing to assist in organizing tours and activities, providing convenience for guests to explore the city and its surroundings. On my last day, since I wanted to simply wander around the Old Quarter, I didn’t book any tour with the hotel. However, the staff was helpful in providing information about nearby places that I could visit within walking distance.
Cons
While Hanoi Finnegans Hotel offers numerous positives, there are some areas where guests may not find satisfaction.
- No Elevator.
It’s worth noting that Hanoi Finnegans Hotel does not have an elevator; only stairs. This may pose a challenge for guests with mobility issues or those carrying heavy luggage. However, the hotel staff is more than willing to assist guests with their belongings and make the necessary arrangements to ensure a comfortable stay.
- The Noise From Outside.
Due to its location in a bustling area, it’s important to note that you may hear some noise from outside, including vehicles and activities on the road. However, if you keep the sliding doors closed, you can minimize the noise and also prevent mosquitoes from entering the room
Conclusion
My stay at Hanoi Finnegans Hotel was nothing short of delightful. Its unbeatable location, spacious and uniquely decorated rooms, friendly staff, and affordability make it an excellent choice for travelers looking to explore the wonders of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. While not having an elevator and the noise from outside the room may present minor inconveniences, the overall experience exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Hanoi Finnegans Hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and authentic stay in Hanoi.
