My brother’s father-in-law was in critical condition two days ago following a road accident. When the doctor told our family there was nothing they could do, we hoped for a miracle. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it and passed away during the night. He was a healthy, cheerful man and a wonderful parent, and his sudden passing hit everyone hard, especially my sister-in-law, who was extremely close to him.
When my brother shared the news with me, I felt a heavy weight on my chest, and tears began to flow as I thought about the pain and sudden loss that my sister-in-law and her family must be experiencing. Even as I write this, my eyes start to well up with tears, and my mind begins to play through like a movie all the people in my life who I love and care about, and how they could be gone in the blink of an eye at any moment without warning. 😢
Life is unpredictable, isn’t it?
We never know what’s going to happen next.
His sudden passing has left me with a heavy heart, but it has also reminded me to show our loved ones how much we appreciate them while we still have the chance. In this fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in our own lives and forget about the people around us.
But life is too short, and we never know when it will come to an end, and we often take our loved ones for granted, assuming that they’ll always be there for us—but when they’re gone, we’re left with a deep sense of regret for all the things we could have said or done.
Today I want to encourage all of you to take a moment to appreciate the people in your life who bring you joy, support you through the tough times, love and genuinely care about you. It could be a family member, a friend, a coworker, or even someone you’ve met online. Speaking of online friends, I know some of you might be thinking that they don’t count, but I beg to differ. Some of the kindest and most impactful people I’ve met in my life have been through online connections. They give me support and encouragement, make me laugh a lot, and even help me see and experience things in new ways.
So, let’s cherish those who make our lives worth living, both near and far, and let them know how much they mean to us and how much we value them. We can send a message, pick up the phone, or even plan a virtual hangout. The possibilities are endless, and the gesture will undoubtedly mean the world to them. Always remember to express your love and appreciation. Cherish them while we still have the chance.
Now that you’ve finished reading this,
Just think about how you would feel if you suddenly lost someone dear to you.
Would you regret not telling them how much they meant to you?
Show your appreciation and love now.
Don’t wait until it’s too late.
X, Hani. ❤
