A Day Trip To Teluk Cempedak, Kuantan, Pahang.

A week ago, I went on a day trip with my best friend, Shima. True to our spontaneous style, we didn’t plan the trip at all. During dinner, Shima suddenly came up with the idea to go to the beach, and over our meal, we seriously considered it. The next morning, we simply said “screw it, let’s go!” and set out on our journey to Kuantan, Pahang at 4.30 am. We decided to leave early in the morning because the drive from our city to the destination would take around 4 hours, and our goal was to arrive by 9:00 am. Neither of us wanted to be at the beach after 12:00 pm when the scorching heat becomes unbearable.

At about 9.00 am, we arrived in Kuantan, Pahang. After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we immediately headed to Teluk Cempedak; which was my first time visiting. I was awestruck by the breathtaking scenery, crystal-clear blue waters, and abundance of restaurants available. It seemed like every fast-food chain had set up their restaurant here! 😂

What you need to know :

  • Car Park: RM2.50 / entry.
  • Has a lot of monkeys. Be careful with your belonging, especially if you bring food. The monkeys never hesitate to steal it from you.
  • Also, be aware of the monkeys during your walk at the bridge. They are everywhere. They walk freely. Please don’t step on their tail.
  • Bring water with you because it is indeed very hot.
  • Wear your face mask (I take it off for the photo) and bring hand sanitizer.

After spending a couple of hours at Teluk Cempedak, our next destination was Cherating Beach. We didn’t stay long there as there wasn’t much to do. We took a few photos and then drove to find the famous ‘Keropok Lekor’ in Cherating. The name of the place is Izz Keropok Lekor. f you happen to visit Cherating, make sure not to miss this place. As Shima had mentioned, it is the best ‘Keropok Lekor’ in town, and I couldn’t agree more.

For our late lunch, we went to Restoran Claypot Patin Tempoyak. We ordered the “Patin Tempoyak” and “Ikan Tilapia Goreng.” The Patin Tempoyak was quite spicy for me, but it tasted really, really, really good, as did the Ikan Tilapia Goreng – it was incredibly crispy!

We had a wonderful time here and left for home at 6:00 PM. Can’t wait for our next spontaneous vacation together! Until my next entry!
