So, about a week ago, I faced an issue withdrawing money from PayPal. I was really nervous because it was my first time trying to transfer money into my bank account. But after figuring it out, I realized that using PayPal is pretty easy—I just didn’t understand it fully at first. Hehe.
To be honest, using PayPal to transfer money from overseas is super convenient. All you need is an email address, and in less than a minute, the money will be in your PayPal account. The problem I faced was being unable to transfer the money from PayPal to my bank account. When I clicked to transfer, nothing changed—I stayed on the same page.
I decided to Google to find out why I couldn’t make the transfer. Some people suggested that using PayPal’s website can be tricky and recommended using the PayPal mobile app instead. So, I tried that, but still no luck. Then, I noticed that my bank account status was “unconfirmed.” I assumed that might be the issue, so I searched for how to confirm my bank account linked to PayPal.
The information I found said that I needed to transfer a small deposit to my bank account. But the problem was, there was no option for me to click to make that deposit. I was confused!
Here’s what I did next:
I contacted PayPal Support
The first thing I did was go to PayPal’s website and click on “Contact Us.”
I sent an email to PayPal
On the next page, I clicked on “Email Us” and explained the issue I was facing (since PayPal is based in the USA, make sure to write in English). PayPal responded quickly and asked me to upload a utility bill to confirm my home address. To do this, I had to click on “View Limits,” and then I could upload the required documents.
Even after doing all that, I still couldn’t transfer the money. It was frustrating because my PayPal account was verified and I didn’t expect to have any issues. I had also removed my transfer limits, so everything seemed ready.
I emailed PayPal again, but the response was slow.
How I Solved It: Reducing the Transfer Amount
At this point, I decided to try something different. I had 350 euros in my PayPal account, so I reduced the amount I wanted to transfer. I tried transferring a smaller amount (240 euros) and finally, the page changed, allowing me to proceed with the transfer. Yay! After that, I transferred the remaining 110 euros with no problem.
- The Process of Transferring Money
To transfer money, click on Withdraw, then select Withdraw to your bank account. If you want to withdraw funds to your card, it will only work if you have a VISA card.
Once you click on Withdraw to your bank account, a new page will appear where you can enter the amount you want to transfer and click Continue.
- Check the Status of Your Transfer
You can check the status of your transfer by going to the History section under Basic Search. PayPal will also send you an email regarding the status of your transfer.
Conclusion:
The issue I faced was likely due to the transfer limit. For the last email I sent to PayPal customer support, they responded, but it took some time. In the end, I managed to solve the issue myself. The important thing is that I successfully transferred all my money to my bank account! 😊
For anyone worried about the “bank account confirmation” that people mention, it’s not always necessary. As long as your PayPal account is verified, you can transfer money to your bank account, even if the status of your linked bank account shows as “unconfirmed.”
