Dreamsea Bali: The Most Beautiful Oceanside Stay I’ve Ever Experienced

After over a month of scrolling through hotel listings, I finally stumbled upon Dreamsea Bali on Agoda while searching for a beachfront stay in Uluwatu, Bali. Honestly, I got lucky—this place is often fully booked, but a few rooms happened to be available on the exact dates I was looking for. Without hesitation, I booked their Ocean Suite for my final night in Bali—and I’m so glad I did!

By the way, some readers have asked me if it’s necessary to change hotels when traveling. The answer is no. But I personally love it. It’s my way of exploring different vibes, and I always treat myself to a stay in a beautiful or unique hotel on my last day—kind of like a farewell hug from the destination.

My Experience at Dreamsea Bali

📍 Location

Dreamsea is located in Uluwatu, one of Bali’s most scenic and laid-back areas. The hotel is perched on a cliff with direct beach access—a rare gem! It’s also within walking distance of Padang-Padang Beach, which is perfect for a quick dip or surf.

🌅 Views That Stole My Heart

The view from my suite was absolutely surreal. Imagine watching both the sunrise and sunset from your bed while listening to waves crashing just beneath your room. It felt like nature’s lullaby—peaceful, grounding, and unforgettable. You will not find a better position so close to the ocean and beach as this hotel.

🛋️ Aesthetic, Ambience & Little Touches

The design of the hotel is a boho dream. Think: earthy tones, bamboo, rattan, and lots of white accents. It felt so natural and calming. My suite was spotless, well-organized, and totally Instagram goals. And one unexpected favorite? The bubble gum-scented shower gel! I know it sounds random, but it smelled amazing and left me smiling every time I used it.

😊 Staff & Atmosphere

The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made the whole stay feel warm, personal, and laid-back—like you’re staying with friends.

🥐 Breakfast with a View

Breakfast was surprisingly good! I got to enjoy a plate of Nasi Padang, which was such a hearty and flavorful start to the day. It came with two perfectly fried eggs, steamed vegetables, shredded chicken, and crispy keladi (yam) chips that added a nice crunch. But what really stole the show was the sambal—spicy, rich, and absolutely addictive. If you love bold local flavors, this will hit the spot!

I also ordered a bowl of muesli to balance things out, and it was light, creamy, and loaded with fresh fruit and crunchy granola—a refreshing contrast after the bold flavors of Nasi Padang.

❌ The Not-So-Great Parts

Okay, so as dreamy as Dreamsea sounds, it’s not all sunshine and perfect waves. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Steep Stair Access: The hotel sits at the bottom of a cliff, so you’ll need to climb down (and up!) over 100 steep stairs. It’s not ideal if you’re carrying large luggage, traveling with kids, or have mobility concerns.

Very Thin Walls: You will hear your neighbors. Everything. From whispers to footsteps. So if privacy is important—especially for couples—this could be a dealbreaker.

Toiletries Are Limited: No toothpaste, no toothbrush, no shampoo or conditioner—just that one (very nice-smelling) shower gel.

Weak Air-Conditioning: At least during my stay, the A/C wasn’t great and struggled to cool the room.

No In-Room Bathroom: The suite’s restroom is located outside the room. Yes, you have to go out of your room to use the toilet—even in the middle of the night.

Terrible Wi-Fi: Don’t expect to get any work done here. The connection is unreliable at best.

Far from Food Options: The hotel is a bit isolated, so food choices are limited unless you plan ahead. I ended up eating banana cake that my Supir gave me as a gift for my dinner. No regrets, but still. 😅

Not Family-Friendly: The stairs are steep and dangerous for young children or the elderly.

Loud Ocean Sounds: Some people may love the crashing waves at night. Others might find it a bit overwhelming or too loud to sleep, especially if you’re a light sleeper.

Would I Recommend It?

Absolutely! Despite the not-so-great parts, Dreamsea Bali feels like stepping into a little slice of paradise. This place is truly incredible and will exceed your expectations. It’s perfect for solo travelers, couples, and anyone seeking an unforgettable oceanside stay.

Would I stay again? Yes—but probably just for a night or two. It’s a bucket-list kind of experience, and yes, totally worth the 100-step climb!
