My birthday was actually the week before, but since I haven’t quite mastered the art of being in two places at once, I decided to stretch the celebration across two weekends. The first was spent with my partner, while the second was reserved exclusively for my best friend.
There was never really any debate about where we’d spend the afternoon. More often than not, we find ourselves back at Tamarind Square in Cyberjaya. There’s something about this place that keeps us coming back, the outdoor garden setting, the peaceful atmosphere, and the endless list of cafés and restaurants waiting to be discovered.
This time, Valentine’s Café was at the top of our list.
We’d seen plenty of glowing reviews online, and admittedly, the beautiful photos had us even more curious. It looked like the perfect place for a slow birthday celebration filled with good food, long conversations, and probably far too many photos. Needless to say, we couldn’t wait to see if it was really worth the hype.
✅ The Great “Where-is-this-café?” Hunt
Finding Valentine’s Café turned out to be much more challenging than we expected.
We spent over 20 minutes wandering around Tamarind Square like two very confused explorers. Google Maps wasn’t much help either. We passed the same spot more than once, crossed roads, and somehow even ended up wandering outside Tamarind Square in search of the café.
At that point, I’d pretty much given up.
I turned to my best friend and said, “You know what? I saw Treehouse Café earlier. Let’s just go there instead.”
So we climbed the stairs, fully prepared for our backup plan. And then, there it was. Valentine’s Café had been quietly hiding on the second floor all along.
I’m still not entirely sure whether we missed the sign or if there simply wasn’t one pointing us in the right direction. The only signage I remember seeing was for Treehouse Café. Either way, I couldn’t help but laugh at how much time we’d spent looking for a place that had been right in front of us the whole time.
We were so glad we finally found it because it was exactly the vibe we were looking for.
✅ The Chill, Private Vibe
Walking into Valentine’s Café, I honestly thought it was closed for a second because there wasn’t a single customer in sight. Thankfully, two friendly staff members welcomed us with warm smiles and invited us to sit wherever we liked.
We made our way to the prettiest corner of the café, a cozy little spot framed by lush greenery that perfectly matched Tamarind Square’s garden vibes.
The café itself has a simple yet charming setup: white wooden tables with chairs paired with a cozy bench seat, giving off those garden vibes that make you feel like you’re dining in a little secret hideaway.
And let me tell you, it felt like we had rented the whole café for a personal birthday celebration. We spent hours laughing, catching up, and taking far too many photos without ever feeling rushed, and just vibed without a single worry about who might be watching or listening. The quiet atmosphere made our little birthday celebration feel even more special, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon.
With just us there, even the waitress had no one else to serve, so the attention felt extra personal. Total VIP treatment, if you ask me!
✅ The Menu & What to Expect
The menu at Valentine’s Café isn’t massive, but I think it offers just the right amount of variety. It leans mostly towards Western comfort food, with a few Asian fusion options in the mix, making it easy to find something that suits whatever you’re craving.

One thing that caught my attention was their High Tea Set, priced at RM70 for 2 to 3 people. It’s served on a beautiful three-tier tray filled with both savoury and sweet treats, making it perfect for a girls’ day out, birthdays, or other small celebrations.
Valentine’s Café also offers customisable celebration packages for birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions, complete with decorations and cake arrangements. Bookings can be made through their Instagram or WhatsApp, and they’re usually quick to respond.
✅ What We Ordered
I decided to be a little adventurous and went for the Creamy Chilli Pasta with Chicken Tenders, while my best friend chose the classic Carbonara. For drinks, she ordered the beautiful Strawberry Matcha, and I stayed loyal to my citrus obsession with a refreshing Lemon Drink with Chia Seeds. If there’s anything lemon-flavoured on the menu, there’s a very good chance that’s what I’ll be ordering.
The moment I took my first bite of my pasta, I actually paused for a second and looked at my friend.
“This is really good.”
I’m usually not a fan of creamy pasta, but this one completely surprised me. It was rich and smooth without feeling overly heavy, with just the right amount of spice to keep every bite interesting. The chicken tenders were crispy on the outside and tender inside, pairing perfectly with the creamy sauce.
Before long, my friend was helping herself to bites from my plate too, which I think says enough about how much we enjoyed it. The carbonara was delicious as well, but I have to admit, I won the pasta game that afternoon.
✅ A Sweet Surprise
One of the sweetest moments of the afternoon came when my best friend surprised me with a birthday cake. As the staff brought it over and a birthday song began playing in the background, I couldn’t help but blush.
I honestly can’t even remember the last time I blew out a birthday candle. It’s been that long.
The whole moment felt wonderfully unexpected and reminded me that sometimes, the simplest celebrations are the ones we remember most.
The cake was a delicious chocolate-coffee flavour, and I loved every bite of it. I’m usually a die-hard cheesecake girl (and she knows that!), but since they didn’t have any that day, she decided to surprise me with something different instead. Looking back, I think she made the right choice because I happily finished the entire slice, which is something I rarely do unless it’s cheesecake-level good.
✅ Price & Value for Money
I found the prices at Valentine’s Café to be very reasonable for both the quality of the food and the overall experience.
Most main dishes are priced between RM20 and RM40, while drinks typically range from RM10 to RM15. The RM70 High Tea Set for two to three people is also worth considering if you’re planning a small celebration or a girls’ day out.
What I appreciate most is that you’re paying for more than just the food. Between the peaceful atmosphere, beautifully presented dishes, and thoughtful touches that make special occasions feel a little more memorable, I think the prices are more than fair.
For me, Valentine’s Café isn’t just somewhere to grab a quick meal. It’s the kind of place I’d happily return to for slow afternoons filled with good food and even better company, and I think that’s what makes it worth every ringgit.

Absolutely.
Spending my birthday at Valentine’s Café turned out to be everything I’d hoped it would be. Despite our little “where is this place?!” adventure at the beginning, everything else made the afternoon feel incredibly special. Good food, a sweet surprise, and hours of catching up with one of my favourite people made it a memory I’ll treasure for a long time.
If you’re looking for a quiet and charming café at Tamarind Square for a catch-up session, birthday celebration, or simply a slow afternoon away from the crowds, I genuinely think Valentine’s Café is worth adding to your list.
And if you’re visiting for the first time, do yourself a favour and head straight for the second floor. Trust me, your feet will thank you later.
