Last week, during the Chinese New Year holiday, I finally had the chance to visit Tadom Hill Resorts. Yeah, finally!. I’ve been wanting to go for ages, and I’m so happy I finally made it.
If you’re a nature lover like me, you’ve probably heard of Tadom Hill before—it’s been trending online since around 2016! I decided to turn this trip into a little “reunion getaway” with an old friend I hadn’t seen in 15 years. We had so much to catch up on, and what better way than a relaxing nature trip
Accommodation & Facilities at Tadom Hill
Everything at Tadom Hill is made from bamboo—yup, even the buildings and structures! It gives the whole place a peaceful, kampung-style vibe.
We booked the Bamboo Lakeside Tent Site, but honestly, I wouldn’t book that one again. Our tent wasn’t facing the lake, and it was right in front of a gazebo, so every time we opened the tent, we saw people. Not ideal for privacy.
If you’re booking, I highly recommend the Bamboo Garden Tent Site instead. It’s much more scenic and private, and it’s super close to the toilets too. Perfect if you’re like me and always need to pee at 3 AM. Walking alone in the dark with barking dogs? Nope. 😅
✅ Free parking is available, but come early! It gets crowded even by 8:30 AM.
Day Pass & Entry Tips
Not staying overnight? You can buy a Day Pass, but be prepared to wait until your number is called to enter the area.
If you’ve booked a stay online, good news—you can enter the resort earlier than the official check-in time (3:00 PM). Just show your reservation at the security counter, and they’ll give you a bamboo visitor pass. Then, head to the check-in counter and let them know you want to explore the resort first. You’ll be given a wristband called the “Tadom Groove”.
✨ Bonus: If you’ve booked a stay, lake activities and breakfast are included! So go ahead—splash around all you want!
Where to Eat?
There are two on-site restaurants:
-
Local cuisine
-
Western food
We tried both, and honestly, the Western food was delicious! I still dream about the chicken grilled with black pepper sauce. 🤤
Who Should Visit Tadom Hill?
Tadom Hill is perfect for:
-
🌿 Nature lovers – greenery everywhere, peaceful village vibes
-
🧑🤝🧑 Group reunions – you can rent a BBQ gazebo and even bring your own grill
-
👨👩👧👦 Families – book a chalet for comfort
-
👯 Groups of friends – tents and hammocks are available too!
❌ Not ideal for honeymooners—no romantic vibes, unless you count mosquitoes as background music.
Activities at Tadom Hill
Okay, real talk—when we first arrived, we had no idea what to do. It was super hot and crowded, and we ended up chilling at the treehouse until check-in. But once we showered and rested, we got our energy back to explore the outdoors.
What can you do at Tadom Hill?
✅ Lake activities: rafts, rope swings, bamboo floats, and hammocks. Honestly, the lake view is stunning, but we didn’t go in—it had a slight smell that wasn’t our cup of tea. (Might not bother others though!)
✅ ATV Ride: Highly recommended! This saved our trip. We had so much fun riding through muddy trails, hills, and jungle paths. Our instructor was super friendly and even helped take photos and videos. 10/10!
There are also:
-
Flying fox
-
Traditional games (especially fun for tourists!)
-
Treehouses for chilling
What to Pack?
Here’s a quick checklist:
-
🧴 Sunscreen
-
🧼 Toiletries (they don’t provide any!)
-
🧦 Sport shoes or sandals
-
👕 Casual clothes (leave the heels & makeup at home, trust me!)
-
🧻 Towel
-
🔌 Power bank or travel adapter (each tent has only one socket)
-
🎒 A backpack – the tent is super small, just enough for a mattress
Pack light and practical!
Final Thoughts & Our Honest Review
Pros:
-
Unique bamboo concept
-
Close-to-nature experience
-
ATV ride = amazing!
-
Great spot for groups
Cons:
-
Limited activities unless you’re into water stuff
-
Cleanliness needs improvement (and visitors should do their part, too)
✅ Tadom Hill is a great place to unwind and escape the city. But because we went during a public holiday, it was very crowded. The vibe completely changed in the evening though—by 6:30 PM, most visitors had left, and only overnight guests remained. It became peaceful and cozy.
✅ In terms of activities, there honestly isn’t a huge variety. Most visitors come mainly for the lake experience. But the ATV ride totally saved our trip—seriously! It was a 45-minute ride that took us up and down hills, through muddy trails, potholes, and forest paths. It was absolutely worth it!
✅ There are other things to do too, like traditional games. But to be honest, those are more exciting for foreign tourists. For most Malaysians, we’ve kind of done those before.
✅ We loved the night campfire—if someone brought a guitar and sang, I swear we’d all have joined in like a campfire scene in a movie.
We do hope that Tadom Hill will continue to add more interesting and exciting activities in the future!
If you’re planning a visit, a day pass is fine, but for a full experience, try staying overnight. If you’re coming with a group, book the hammocks—definitely a different kind of stay!
Until next time,
Xoxo, Hani 🌿
