Beauty Tips I’ve Used from Then Until Now

Johnson’s Baby Powder for Oily Hair

Washing hair daily isn’t ideal for its health. To reduce the oily look without washing every day, I sprinkle a little Johnson’s Baby Powder on my scalp and hair. Then, I blow-dry it and blend the powder until the white residue disappears. This method helps absorb excess oil and leaves my hair looking fresher without the need for daily washes.

Body Lotion for Soft Skin

For smooth, hydrated skin, I always apply body lotion immediately after showering while my skin is still damp. This locks in moisture and keeps my skin soft all day. My go-to body lotion is from Nivea, but feel free to choose a product that works for your skin type. Applying lotion on slightly damp skin helps it absorb better and can prevent dryness, which is especially important in colder months.

Argan Oil, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil and Castor Oil for Hair Health

These oils are versatile and great for both skin and hair. I typically use them on my hair to hydrate and promote growth. I apply a generous amount of any one of these oils to my hair 20-30 minutes before shampooing. These oils are packed with vitamins and antioxidants that nourish the scalp, strengthen hair, and add shine. Coconut oil, for instance, has antimicrobial properties that help keep the scalp healthy, while castor oil can encourage hair growth.

Oats + Milk Scrub for Smooth Skin

Oats have been a staple in my skincare routine for years. They act as a gentle exfoliator, removing dead skin cells without irritating the skin. Oats also contain compounds that help soothe the skin and lock in moisture. I mix oats with milk to create a scrub that nourishes my skin while removing any rough patches. If you want soft, glowing skin, oats are a natural, affordable way to achieve it.

Vanilla Essential Oil for a Sweet Scent

I love the calming scent of vanilla, and I use vanilla essential oil to give my body lotion a warm, inviting fragrance. Instead of using perfume, I mix a few drops of vanilla essential oil into my lotion for a subtle, long-lasting scent. Not only does it smell amazing, but vanilla essential oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which help calm the skin and reduce redness or irritation.

Eucerin Lip Balm for Soft Lips

Dry, cracked lips used to be a constant problem for me, especially when wearing lipstick. I found that Eucerin lip balm is the only one that truly healed my dry lips. It’s intensely hydrating and helps restore moisture to chapped lips. I recommend applying it every morning and night. Healthy lips are essential for a beautiful smile, and this product can help you keep them soft and smooth.

Vaseline for Dry Skin & Cracked Heels

Vaseline is a lifesaver for extremely dry areas, like cracked heels or rough elbows. It creates a barrier that locks in moisture, which is essential for healing dry patches. I apply Vaseline to my feet and wear socks to help it absorb overnight. This method helps prevent cracks and keeps the skin on your feet soft, making your feet look more polished and healthy.

Mustajab Lotion + Corset for Maintaining Shape

Wearing a corset every day for at least 8 hours is part of my routine to help maintain my shape. Before putting on my corset, I apply Mustajab lotion around my waist and stomach. This combination of shaping and skin care helps me feel more confident in my body. If you’re looking to define your waist and boost your skin’s elasticity, this duo can help. Remember to combine this with regular exercise, like yoga, for the best results.

Sunblock for Skin Protection

In my 20s, I didn’t realize how important sunscreen was for protecting my skin. Now I never skip it, even when I’m indoors. Sunblock helps protect your skin from harmful UV rays, which can cause premature ageing and increase the risk of skin cancer. Apply it every day, even when it’s cloudy or you’re staying inside, to keep your skin looking youthful and healthy. Make sure to reapply every few hours if you’re outdoors.

Green Tea for Skin and Overall Health

I started drinking green tea when my face was breaking out badly. Green tea is packed with antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties that can help calm irritated skin. It’s also great for your overall health, as it boosts metabolism and supports digestion. Green tea has become a staple in my beauty routine because it helps detoxify my skin from the inside out. Sugar + Honey Lip Scrub for Soft, Pink Lips

Dead skin cells on your lips can make them look dry and dull. To exfoliate and keep them soft, I make my own lip scrub with sugar and honey. The sugar acts as an exfoliant, while honey has natural humectant properties that attract moisture to your lips. I gently scrub my lips with this mixture and then follow up with a hydrating lip balm for smooth, kissable lips.

Face Shaving for Smooth Skin

Shaving your face isn’t just for men; it can help women achieve smooth, flawless skin, especially when applying makeup. I shave my face to remove fine peach fuzz and dead skin cells. This not only makes my skin smoother but also helps makeup apply more evenly. If you’re considering it, make sure to use a proper facial razor and do it gently. This method works best for women with peach fuzz or those wanting smoother skin. Here’s where you can read more about it: Women shaving face

Hope these tips help. Until then! X, Hani.
