I Went To The Secret Garden, Putrajaya And Here Are My Thoughts

A good friend of mine recently told me that The Secret Garden in Putrajaya went viral on TikTok. Since I’m not on TikTok, I was initially sceptical and wondered what all the fuss was about. However, my friend convinced me that the place looked beautiful, and I became influenced by her excitement. So, today, I decided to visit with her to see if the place truly lived up to the internet hype.

My thoughts:

  • If you’ve ever been to i-City, The Secret Garden feels like an earlier version of it, minus the upgrades—so, basically, it’s the i-City 1.0.
  • It’s not as large or as feature-packed as i-City, and there aren’t many activities to do other than taking photos or snapping some OOTDs with the LED lights.
  • The facilities are decent: there’s a public restroom, parking available, and food stalls operated by the Pulse Grande Hotel across from the garden.
  • However, the food at the stalls is quite overpriced—two small slices of pineapple cost RM5.00, while I could buy an entire pineapple for under RM3.00. On the other hand, the beverage prices are more reasonable.
  • Since the place recently went viral, it tends to get crowded. If you plan to visit, I recommend arriving early, ideally between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM on weekends. Otherwise, finding parking might take a while. Weekdays might be less crowded.
  • The garden is clean and well-maintained
  • During the day, it looks like an ordinary, well-kept park, but when night falls, it comes alive with its lights. That said, the place could be more captivating if they added more LED lights, sculptures, or other attractions to entertain visitors.
  • It’s a great spot for kids.
  • If you’re considering travelling a long distance just to visit, it might not be worth it unless you’re nearby.

More Info:

  • Location: Taman Putra Perdana, Precinct 1, opposite the Pulse Grande Hotel.
  • As of August 6, 2022, entry is free, and parking is also free.
  • The lights come on at 7:30 PM, bringing the garden to life.
  • Expect crowds, especially at popular photo spots. Be prepared to wait your turn.
  • Wear casual clothes as it’s an outdoor location. With the warm weather and crowds, you’ll likely break a sweat
