Staycation At Ibis Hotel, Melaka.

I recently traveled to Melaka for work and decided to take advantage of my time there by booking a staycation at the Ibis Hotel, Melaka. My decision to choose this particular hotel was based on its strong reputation, most importantly, because it is a member of the Accor brand; a name I have come to trust and rely on when it comes to finding quality accommodations. Over the course of my three-day stay at the hotel, I had the opportunity to fully immerse myself in the experience and evaluate all aspects of the property.

The staff.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the level of service and hospitality provided by the staff. The concierge, in particular, was incredibly helpful from the moment he saw me. He greeted me with a warm welcome and offered to assist me with my luggage, which was a great help as I had brought quite a lot of stuff with me.

Although the check-in process went smoothly, I did notice that the receptionist seemed a little less than enthusiastic about his job. A smile or a more welcoming attitude would have made the experience even more pleasant. Nonetheless, the other staff members more than made up for this minor issue. They were friendly, polite, and always ready to assist with any request.

Throughout my stay, I interacted with various staff members, and they all displayed a high level of professionalism and dedication to their jobs. From the housekeeping staff to the waitstaff at the hotel restaurant, everyone seemed genuinely interested in ensuring that guests had an enjoyable experience.

The Cost.

If you’re looking for an affordable hotel in the heart of Melaka, consider staying at Ibis Hotel, Melaka. It won’t hurt your wallet. The rooms are clean, well-maintained and come with comfortable beds, pillows, and bolsters for added comfort. The hotel offers free wifi and complete toiletries, including flip-flops, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shower gel. Additionally, an iron and ironing board are available in the room. The hotel’s pool and playground resemble a mini water theme park and are perfect for families with kids. There is also a small gym located next to the pool. The hotel offers a free parking lot for its guests, conveniently located near the pool area

The Foods.

Ibis Hotel, Melaka is not just a great place to stay, but it also offers an impressive culinary experience. The Ibis Kitchen, the hotel’s main restaurant, serves a variety of local Malaysian delicacies, as well as international cuisine. During my stay, I had the opportunity to try out their buffet, and I must say I was blown away by the extensive selection of dishes available.

From traditional Malaysian dishes like nasi lemak, rendang, and laksa, to Western favorites like pasta, pizza, and grilled meats, there was something to suit every taste. The dishes were well-prepared, with a good balance of flavors and spices.

One thing that stood out to me was the dessert section. The selection of cakes and traditional ‘kuih’ (Malaysian sweets) was impressive, and I found myself going back for seconds and even thirds. Everything was incredibly tasty, and I would highly recommend leaving some space for dessert.

The price range for the buffet is reasonable, ranging from RM29-35nett. Considering the quality and variety of the dishes offered, I believe it’s great value for money.

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the culinary offerings at Ibis Hotel, Melaka. Whether you’re a foodie or simply looking for a satisfying meal, I would definitely recommend checking out the Ibis Kitchen during your stay.

The Location.

The hotel’s central location is one of its biggest advantages, as it is situated in the heart of the city. The majority of Melaka’s popular tourist attractions, such as Jonker Street and the Melaka River, are located within a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Alternatively, if you prefer to use ride-hailing services, a Grabcar ride would only cost you RM5.00. As I had already explored most of the city’s main attractions, I decided to take a Melaka river cruise to experience something new. The ticket price for the cruise was RM25.00, and while the experience was enjoyable, I personally preferred strolling along the banks of the Melaka River to explore the area at my own pace. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

I had a blast during my stay here. From the warm and helpful staff to the affordable yet comfortable accommodations, this hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The culinary experience at the Ibis Kitchen was a highlight, with its diverse selection of delicious dishes that catered to every palate. I look forward to returning to this wonderful hotel in the future.
